Why I Will Follow A Cleaning Schedule

Last weekend I vowed to spring clean. Between work, exercise classes, basketball, and the boys, my house fell into what I like to call an “organized mess.” I found myself leaving all of my chores to Saturday and Sunday. I would not recommend doing that. I felt overwhelmed and tired. All I wanted to do was relax and enjoy my weekend activities with my family.

Reluctantly, I downed two energy drinks and carved out the time to clean. It took ALL day; two days to be exact. I vowed after that to make an effort to do more during the week. I figured, thirty minutes per night was better than a marathon cleaning session over the weekend.

Check out my plan:

  • Make Beds
  • Load/Unload Dishwasher
  • Sweep Kitchen Floor

  • Bathroom
    • Vanity/Mirror
    • Bath Tub/Shower
    • Toilet
    • Floors
    • Trash

  • Kitchen
    • Countertops
    • Microwave
    • Fridge
    • Sweep/Mop

  • Vacuum
  • Dust

  • Laundry (Kids)
  • Trash/Recycling Pick-Up

  • Wash Linens
    • Sheets
    • Towels

Saturday: RELAX

  • Laundry (Adults)

Do you follow a cleaning schedule? Or do you leave everything for the weekend?
