November 18, 2015; I’m Thankful for Mommy and Me Time

As much as I love my T’s, I’m always anxious to get them to bed at their regularly scheduled 8:00 bedtime. Tonight is a little different. Tallen and I are spending the evening watching Mickey Mouse and drinking milkshakes in our bed. I love his little smile and his little dimple. I’m so thankful for moments like this. Now, to finish those milkshakes!

November 17, 2015; I’m Thankful for My Mother

As you may have previously seen, my mom and dad are vacationing in the Dominican Republic for their thirty fifth wedding anniversary. Well, I’m about to go stir crazy. I even attempted to call the resort, but my husband reprimanded me. 😦

My mom and I have a great relationship. We text, talk and face-time on a “very” regular basis. Since she’s been gone I have not been able to speak to her. It’s driving me nuts! I’m so thankful for the bond that we have. Now get home Grammy!

November 16, 2015; I’m Thankful for Small Victories

When it comes to toddlers, every win – big or small is a victory. My older son Tallen is the pickiest eater. It’s truly my husband and I’s fault (first time parent syndrome). This evening instead of preparing him a separate meal, he actually ate the pot roast that I came home on my lunch hour to prepare. Hallelujah!

Anyone with a picky eater knows how frustrating these picky habits can be. I’m so thankful! We’re expanding his palate one crock pot meal at a time.

November 10, 2015; I’m Thankful for Sameness

As much as we challenge everyone to be unique and to not compare ourselves to others, today was a bit different for me. My younger son Trace was acting a straight fool! He was in the midst of a full-blown temper tantrum. I happened to see another mother. Her little one was not having a good morning either. Quickly, my embarrassment began to cease. It was nice to see someone share the same struggle. And I don’t mean that in a negative way at all.

While it’s great to have our own unique differences, it’s still refreshing to know that we all as mothers oftentimes face the same challenges.

What are you thankful for today?
